How Publications Are Reviewed and Categorized

Articles are chosen for the CECR Online Library based on overall relevancy to the topic of educator compensation reform. Articles are sorted in one or more of the following descriptive categories: scientific research, rigorous research, national reports, state or regional reports, research reviews and books, spotlight articles, issue papers, policy analyses, and reports.

CECR conducts two independent reviews to categorize and rate each chosen article using the following six scales: relevancy, research participants, research apparatus, research procedures, findings and conclusions, and relevant search categories. The two independent reviews are compared by CECR staff, and articles with similar ratings are abstracted and posted to the Online Library.
